How to make Japanese curry rice
One day, because I was missing Japan, I made Japanese curry rice with my Japanese friends and had lunch with Korean girls!
Also we gave it to my friend from Taiwan and she said it was delicious, too.
So, I will show you how to make Japanese curry rice today.

- Onion 1
- Potatoes 2
- Carrot 1
- Curry roux
- Oil

Directions
1. Cut Vegetables into small pieces
2. Heat oil in a skillet and fry meet
3. Add vegetables
4. Add water and mix
5. Simmer about 20 minutes
6. Add curry roux
7. Simmer about 10 minutes
8. Pour over rice on a plate
It's easy to make, but it is difficult to obtain curry roux in America. However, in Japan, curry rice is very popular and it is said that people eat curry rice 76 times per a year. It means people eat it more than one time per a week!
Moreover, you can remake leftover curry to curry noodle! Curry tastes even better on the second day.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool post! I am pleasantly surprised that it requires so few ingredients-- this is super helpful for college students who dont buy many groceries! Even though the one ingredient is hard to find, maybe I can try it sometime!
